Mayor Ronald O. Loveridge
Thank you for visiting the website for Mayor Ronald O. Loveridge. Riverside is an exciting, diverse, urban, and successful city. This webpage is designed to identify policy initiatives and to highlight success stories for Riverside, the City of Arts & Innovation.
Fit, Fresh, & Fun Forum
Riverside residents are looking to improve their lifestyles and physical condition through exercise, a healthy diet, and active living. Councilmember Rusty Bailey and I established the Fit, Fresh, & Fun Forum (The Forum) to explore current fitness resources available to the public, identify unmet fitness needs, and strategize ways to expand opportunities for all Riverside residents. The 30-member task force meets six times a year to:
- create a vision and establish strategies for creating healthy kids programs,
- launching a workplace wellness campaign, reducing obesity by 30%,
- establishing City polices which encourage healthy industries,
- launching a citywide campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle and
- expanding citywide community gardens and farmer’s markets.
